Connor Garvey's initiation as a modern troubadour came in 2008 by way of train; a 45 day, self-booked tour by Amtrak across the US. Now, many tours later, Garvey is finding his place as a seasoned folk-rock singer-songwriter on the national circuit. Through his rhythmic guitar foundations and a unique, clear voice, Connor encourages us to hope, grow, laugh, and see beauty in all of life's metaphors. "The songs of Connor Garvey have that rare and balanced blend of refreshing lyric, inventive guitar work, and mesmerizing grooves, all powered by his clear and agile singing voice. Beggar's Ride
Sunday, September 18 2011
Beggar's Ride is the Baltimore based duo of performing songwriters Claudia SanSoucie and Kate Maguire. They met in the fall of 2008 and began performing together soon after, officially forming Beggar's Ride in the winter of 2010. Their efforts have culminated in the recording of their first full length album to be released June 7,2011.
The album was recorded and mixed at the venerable Signature Sounds studio in Pomfret, CT. Working with producer David Goodrich (Chris Smither, Peter Mulvey, Jeffrey Foucault, Red Bird) and chief engineer Mark Thayer, they set out to record an intimate, moody album featuring the interplay between their tight harmonies and lush electric and acoustic guitar textures. The album features 10 songs, all originals by SanSoucie and Maguire with the exception of the brilliant David Olney tune "Women Across the River."
Kate Maguire has been busy performing regionally since she moved to Baltimore in 2008. She was a finalist for her song "5 Days of Rain" in 2010 and Silver prize winner in the 2009 Mid Atlantic Songwriting Competition for her song "Softer Shade of Blue" from her self released EP "Leaving". This track was also included on the 2009 GoGirls MusicFest Compilation CD.
Claudia SanSoucie has performed extensively in the Mid-Atlantic, including the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage, and throughout Europe. Her song "The Enemy" was selected for inclusion on the Baltimore Songwriter's Association's juried CD "Songs from a Charmed City".

Seth Glier
Sunday, May 15 2011
"The greatest pop songwriting since Billy Joel" - Livingston Taylor
Seth Glier will grab you...if not with his powerful falsetto or his melodic prowess, then with what Performer Magazine calls his "intoxicating groove." The 22-year-old singer, pianist and guitarist - who abandoned studies at The Berklee College of Music after one year because he "decided I should be playing for people and not for grades" - aims straight for the gut & has quickly established himself on the national scene performing over 250 shows a year.
In 2010, Glier shared stages with such diverse artists as James Taylor, Mark Knopfler, The Verve Pipe, and Edwin McCain. He has appeared as a mainstage artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (NY) and the Kerrville Folk Festival (TX). USA Today recently compared Seth to Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel and recommended his track "Lauralee" on their "Listen Up Playlist" (Feb 2011).
The only musical member of his family, Seth was raised on the music of Joni Mitchell, Martin Sexton and Randy Newman, but considers his brother to be his greatest influence. "My brother is autistic and non-verbal. I learned to communicate with words better once I realized how to communicate to someone without them." Maybe the term 'old soul' has meaning after all...

Acoustic Eidolon
Sunday, September 19 2010
Acoustic Eidolon, featuring Joe Scott on double neck guitjo and Hannah Alkire on cello are from Colorado and have graced stages throughout the US, Europe, Australia and Canada. With eight CDs and a DVD to their credit, these masterful artists continue to captivate audiences throughout the world with their signature “new acoustic” sound and boundless possibilities in blending Celtic, Folk, World & Latin music influences, something that Dirty Linen Magazine praises as “a sumptuous musical feast.” They are described by the Swallow Hill Music Association as “an evening of brilliant instrumentality,” and Georgia’s Good Life Magazine enthuses, “Acoustic Eidolon offers concert-goers a chance to absorb some of the most powerful and intriguing music on the scene today.”
Their original sound is created by the mixing of their diverse musical backgrounds and their unusual instrumentation including the one-of-a-kind double neck guitjo, an instrument of Joe’s own design praised by USA Today as a “beautiful harp-like sounding instrument … like nothing we’ve ever heard before.” The double-neck guitjo has 14 strings and Joe has developed his own style and technique, playing both necks simultaneously. Classically-trained cellist Hannah Alkire studied with G. Magyar of the Hungarian String Quartet and is recognized internationally for her stunning tone and emotional, impeccable playing and for taking the cello places it’s never been before.
The two joined their personal lives after forming their musical alliance and were married in 2001. The result is a coupling of intricate and passionate music with genuine and engaging stories.

Husband & wife duo, Allison Downey & John Austin take audiences on a musical journey that spans the gamut of human emotions often making you laugh in mid-cry. Buskin and Batteau
Sunday, January 24 2010
"...versatile, sophisticated...by turns acerbic, funny and plaintive. Buskin & Batteau are breathing new life into the genre of the folk-pop singer/songwriter." – The New York Times
With the release of their long-awaited new CD, Red Shoes and Golden Hearts, David Buskin and Robin Batteau demonstrate that despite their thirteen-year hiatus - to 1) "Raise kids," and 2) "Take a nap" - they have not lost the ability to mine their "irresistible amalgam of melodic, sensual pop, folkie grit and killer wit" [Washington Post] for fresh musical gems. The continuing development and maturation of two uniquely compatible singer-songwriter-soloists ( Buskin on keyboard, Batteau on violin ) has not only yielded a crop of stunning new songs, but infused new depth into the old ones.
Accompanied by virtuosic percussionist Marshal Rosenberg, Buskin and Batteau bring a taste of "acoustic heaven" [Boston Globe] everywhere they go. "

Nathan Rogers
Sunday, November 22 2009
Some say he was born into it, some that he was born with it, while others claim he has earned it. With one foot planted firmly in folk music's traditional roots and the other reaching into its dynamic future, Nathan Rogers isn't entirely sure what 'it' is; singer, songwriter, guitarist, throat-chanter, percussionist, revivalist, or innovator. Whatever it may be,"Nathan has the ability to turn the folk world on its ears." Nathan's performance style leaves the audiences wondering where the rest of the band is hiding. Singing, chanting, playing the guitar and stomping, he fills any stage with "magnificent powerfully clear lyrics and arrangements."
Described as 'intelligent and witty', Nathan will 'move men and women to tears with his sound and conviction."

Justin Roth
Sunday, October 18 2009
Justin Roth is a nationally touring singer/songwriter/acoustic guitarist who combines an artful blend of pop hooks laid on a bed of brilliantly inventive guitar technique for a unique mix of new acoustic folk. He has released four independent CDs as well as being a core contributor to an instrumental solo guitar album produced for Target Stores, entitled "Lifescapes - Solo Guitar," which has sold over 70,000 copies nationwide. His path to acoustic music was solidified at 17, when he saw innovative guitarist Michael Hedges open for Crosby, Stills & Nash. Seeing that the acoustic guitar was capable of so much more than he had been exposed to before, from that moment on, he knew that it would be the root of his musical world. His use of alternate tunings, partial capos and his two-hand tapping technique leaves audiences mesmerized and displays his impeccable guitar playing that has been described as, “more than just an instrument, but an extension of himself.” A dynamic live performer, Justin has won fans over with his intricate solo guitar instrumentals, heartfelt songs and spontaneous delivery, often composing songs during his shows with the audience's help. When not touring the country, performing at clubs, theaters and festivals, Justin lives in Minneapolis, where he is currently at work on a new album.

Joe Jencks
Sunday, December 14 2008
Joe Jencks is an international touring performer and award-winning songwriter. His career is based as much in ministering to the human spirit as it is in the performance of music. A Joe Jencks concert is definitely not a visit to the inner world of some guy with a guitar who would like us all to sit still and listen politely. It's an occasion for singing, a contagious rising up of voices, an act of joy and defiance! &Tapping into the latent, nearly mystical beauty that a roomful of people can unleash by singing together. Greg Greenway
Friday, November 21 2008
Beneath the radar of the corporate music world there are gems to be found. Greg Greenway is a multi-faceted one. A rare combination of instrumental expertise, a soulful and moving singer, powerful poet, and sparkling entertainer, Greenway is one of those difficult-to-categorize performers who have found a home in the modern acoustic genre. Originally from Richmond, VA, he moved to Boston for its rich Folk Music tradition and has become one of its most unique and superlative emissaries. Put simply, he is one of the finest entertainers you'll ever see. Musically, he draws inspiration from all over the map--gospel, rock, blues, Jazz, and world music. But his center is in the singer/songwriter tradition that traces it roots all the way back to the social awareness of Woody Guthrie. His central appeal is that it all comes through the singular lens of Greenway's humanity and his easy affinity for the audience.

Dave Potts with special guest Jenny Goodspeed
Friday, October 17 2008
Dave: A singer/songwriter with a gift for melody and a poet's eye for detail, Dave Potts crafts contemporary folk songs with shades of country and Americana, infused with Southern charm.
Raised in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains, he spent several years living out of the back of his dusty red pickup, typically logging over 50,000 miles a year honing his skills as musician and performer in coffee houses and college bars from coast-to-coast. In 1996, Dave stumbled across the picturesque town of Auburn, Alabama and quickly realized he had found his home. Since settling in Auburn, Dave's songs have shed light on the endearing characters and small towns of the South; a sincere style that has earned him countless awards and accolades...
Jenny: Jenny Goodspeed bloomed as a singer-songwriter in the rich Boulder/Denver music scene of the mid-90s where she played local venues and festivals, including the renowned Swallow Hill Music Association. In 1997, she recorded a demo with respected producer/engineer Patrick Brickel (Greg Brown). After moving to Western Massachusetts to begin a new life in the landscape that felt most like home, she unexpectedly rediscovered her love for theater, and spent the next decade acting with numerous theater companies in the region. All the while, she continued to write songs and quietly hone her craft.
